On Cryptocurrencies And Politics

From a perspective of defending and increasing freedom, should we even care about politics, or just focus on counter-economics – live on and use bitcoin. What do you think? Do politics matter? Why or why not?

So you are asking should we care about politics or should we focus on building alternatives?

Well that is politics. What I am writing here is politics.

Politics is a conversation about how to organize society. It is not a conversation you can only have as an elected official, or only participate in once every four years. It is not a conversation you can only participate in by wearing blue or red colored pins, though… that is what they want us to think politics is!

They want us to think politics is the dirty business of deciding between two terrible choices every four years… so they can mess up the life of our neighbor, who we didn’t like anyway and supported the wrong candidate!

That is not politics, that is tribalism played out in governance. We don’t need that.

Politics is a society having a conversation about governance. We are doing that right here.

We didn’t cast any votes. I certainly wasn’t elected.

But this is politics. We are engaging in politics every day.

In fact, local organization, creating community, creating what is valuable to other people, and helping each other is the most powerful form of politics we have.

Don’t vote, code.
